Starboard - Touring LIte Tech

The 2026 Starboard Touring 14'0″ x 30″ Lite Tech is a long-distance touring SUP designed around efficient glide, straight-line tracking and stable paddling. At 14'0″ long, 30″ wide and 298 L, it provides a relatively narrow touring profile while maintaining a stable platform for longer sessions and carrying equipment. 

The board's low nose rocker and straight middle rocker extend the waterline and help maintain efficient glide. The thin, squared nose is derived from Starboard's race-board designs, with a narrower entry intended to reduce splash and improve efficiency. Flat side planes and boxy rails contribute to stability, while the deep center channel and swept-back fin improve straight-line tracking.

A recessed standing area lowers the paddler's center of gravity, while the recessed drainage channel directs water toward the tail. The board also has dedicated storage in front of the standing area, keeping carried gear accessible while positioning its weight low on the board.

Lite Tech Construction

The Lite Tech construction is designed to balance weight, stiffness and durability. Unidirectional stringer bands add longitudinal rigidity, while reinforced rails and nose provide additional structural protection. Australian pine is used beneath the standing area to increase rigidity and impact resistance in a high-load section of the board. The inserts are reinforced with high-density foam.

The Touring also features front and rear bungee tie-downs for securing dry bags and other equipment, although the Lite Tech version differs from Starlite in its bungee configuration.

Overall, the 14'0″ x 30″ Lite Tech is the larger, longer-distance Touring configuration, combining a 298 L platform, 30″ width, long waterline and relatively lightweight construction for efficient paddling with enough stability and storage capacity for touring and longer-distance use.
